FirstComm uses varying types of cable depending on the job specifications. For instance, 16-Gauge In-Wall Speaker Cable is used for connecting speakers. RGB cable is used to connect TVs and components, while HDMI cables are used to ensure the highest quality picture is delivered to an HDTV unit. For networking applications CAT 5, CAT 5e, or CAT 6 may be required. CAT 5 is sufficient for 100 MHz transmission over short distances. CAT 5e is a similar cable that allows both voice and data transmission like its predecessor CAT 5 with enhanced crosstalk filtration capabilities. CAT 6 cable is preferred for Gigabit Ethernet applications with even higher crosstalk specifications and the ability to perform at 250 MHz. Fiber Optic cabling is available to clients looking for a voice/data solution that requires longer horizontal cabling specifications than CAT 5 or Cat 6 can provide.
